Heart Confirms Break-up with Jericho; Teams Up with Richard Gutierrez
On the story conference of the upcoming GMA teleserye “Asero”, Heart Evangelista confirmed that she broke up with Jericho Rosales and she is now excited with her new loveteam Richard Gutierrez.
“It’s finished. I decided… you know there’s a lot of things that we did not get along with… a lot of things so that’s it,” Heart confessed on Chika Minute segment of 24 Oras last night.
Aside from Asero, the loveteam of Heart and Richard will also grace the silverscreen which led people to speculate that their on screen team-up could lead to real life.
“I just want to have fun. I just want to have good time you know,” Heart said regarding the possible romance with the GMA heartthrob.
“Akong bahala sa’yo…you’re in good hands. I’ll make sure sa set masaya siya…makalilimutan nya lahat ng problema nya. Pagdating sa trabaho mag-eenjoy kami…we’ll be working hard together,” according to Richard Gutierrez.
Heart and Richard will fly to Dubai next week for the taping of the first episodes of Asero.

In the press conference of a new spa where Piolo Pascual and Marian Rivera are the endorsers, their chemistry was put to test and somehow, it worked! As a matter of fact, Mother Lily Monterverde of Regal Films is now planning to make a movie for the two big stars from rival tv stations.

A big portion of each episode now in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus concentrates on the emerging loveteams inside the house.
Well, a loveteam normally works inside the house. Look at Kim and Gerald.
But now, there are three new teams contending to dislodge that team-up. There’s Josef and Nicole, Valerie and EJay and Alex and Beauty.
Josef and Nicole’s story is straight from a telenovela where the girl’s mom can only watch in shock with their growing sweetness. She even remarked, “conservative ang family namin… “ or something to that effect. Apparently, not. Even if she knows that Josef has a girlfriend outside, she still acts sweetly to him. I’m not blaming the girl. The guy is partly to blame. Or maybe I can blame Nicole’s hair because for me, she badly needs a haircut!
What about Valerie and EJay? EJay, the simple probinsyano guy from Mindoro and this half-German girl who sports fabulous Farrah Fawcett looking hair. How she fixes and maintains it is beyond me but I have to give her props dahil winner nga ha! Anyway, they now shared buko juice and sinigang and EJay even did a harana bit (or skit) to her and has in fact confessed that he more than likes her…which is love I guess. Honestly, I find their story boring. I’d rather know how Valerie does her hair inside the house.
Lastly is Beauty and Alex. Ah, Beauty who honestly for me, is not. She hugs Alex, she follows Alex, she makes pechay Alex. Alex is half-Italian and newly circumcised. Maybe they can do a revival of Beauty and the Beast. The question is, is Beauty beautiful enough to be Belle?

Richard Gutierrez signs movie deal with Star Cinema
Actor-endorser Richard Gutierrez has signed a movie contract with ABS-CBN’s movie outfit Star Cinema.
Gutierrez will be doing a light romance flick with showbiz royalty and ABS-CBN’s newest contract star KC Concepcion.
Present during the signing were Star Cinema head Malou Santos, ABS-CBN Corporate Communication head Bong Osorio and other network executives.
The actor was accompanied by his talent manager, his mother Anabelle Rama.
Gutierrez is currently the number one leading man of ABS-CBN’s rival network
Dennis Trillo would rather focus on his showbiz career than his love life
Nanibago kami sa porma ni Dennis Trillo nang dalawin ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang set ng Magdusa Ka sa Marinara, isang girlie bar sa Quezon Avenue. Very rugged at medyo marumi kasi ang hitsura niya, pero ganito kasi ang hinihingi ng character na ginagampanan niya sa bagong Sine Serye ng GMA-7 na magiging bahagi ng Dramarama sa Hapon ng GMA-7.
Gagampanan ni Dennis sa Magdusa Ka ang role na unang ginampanan ni Christopher de Leon sa pelikula. Pagbibidahan ito ni Katrina Halili na siya namang gaganap sa role dati ni Dina Bonnevie.
“Gusto kong suportahan si Katrina sa pagbibida niya,” sabi ni Dennis. “Nandodoon kasi ang challenge. Nakilala sa pagiging kontrabida si Katrina, at kailangan ng matinding suporta ngayong siya naman ang pagkakatiwalaang maging heroine sa istorya.”
CRISTINE REYES. Hiningan rin namin ang reaction si Dennis sa posibilidad na ang nilulutong teleseryeng tatampukan ng rumored girlfriend niyang si Cristine Reyes sa ABS-CBN—ang Eva Fonda, 16—ay baka makatapat ng kanilang Magdusa Ka.
“E, di maganda!” bulalas ng young actor. “Labanan ito ng naggagandahan at nagseseksihang FHM cover girls, di ba? Sa Magdusa Ka, kasama rin namin ni Katrina si Iwa Moto, at talagang paseksihan ang labanan.”
Si Iwa ang pumalit kay Cristine na first choice sana sa role na unang ginampanan ni Pinky Amador sa pelikula. Ngayon ay nasa bakuran na ng Kapamilya network si Cristine.
“Sa amin ni Cristine, wala kaming nakikitang conflict sa ganyan,” ani Dennis. “Trabaho lang kasi ‘yan, e. Nagkataon lang na nasa magkalabang networks na kami. At saka walang epekto sa pagiging magkaibigan namin ‘yon.
“Yeah, we go out,” pag-amin ng matinee idol. “Nakikita naman ng mga tao yun, pero hindi naman palagi, ’cause we are both busy. This time, magkahiwalay na nga kami ng network kaya mas mahirap.”
Sa kabila ng madalas na paglabas nila ni Cristine ay bakit tila patuloy pa rin si Dennis sa pagde-deny ng totoong relasyon nila?
“Hindi naman sa ganoon,” depensa ni Dennis. “Kailangan ko lang talagang sabihin ang totoo, na lumalabas kami, kasi friends kami. Wala akong nakikitang masama doon. I always believe na single pa rin naman siya. At saka magkaibigan lang kami ni Cristine. Gaya sa pakikipag-close niya sa ibang guys, wala akong nakikitang masama doon.
“At saka alam ni Cristine na nakatutok ako sa career ko. Yung controversies before, kahit paano, let’s face it, nakaapekto sa akin. Kaya this time, yaman din lang na natanggap ng public ‘yan, mas mabuting ang pagtuunan ko ng pansin ay ang career ko.
“Kung magkakaproblema uli ako dahil sa love life, I can’t afford that at this time. Kaya sa maniwala kayo’t hindi, hindi ko pinagbubuhusan ng atensiyon ang love sa ngayon,” pagtatapat ni Dennis.
CARLENE & CALIX. Ano naman ang masasabi ni Dennis sa madalas na pagpapa-interview ng kanyang dating girlfriend na si Carlene Aguilar at isinasama pa ang anak nila na si Calix Andreas?
“That’s just okay, lalo na kung ang topic naman ay motherhood at hindi yung mga tsismis lang,” saad ni Dennis. “Carlene and I are okay. Nakakadalaw ako regularly sa bata. Kung anuman talaga yung sa amin, tungkol na lang sa baby.
“Alam naman ni Carlene na wala ring kapupuntahan kung iniintriga kami ng ganoon. Mas mabuti talagang kami na lang ang nag-uusap at may nasu-solve pa kami kung anuman ang problema.
“I don’t think na magkakaroon pa ng gusot sa amin ni Carlene. Basta alam naman niyang kung makakaya ko, susuportahan ko yung baby namin. Nagkausap na kaming mabuti diyan at alam na niya ang stand ko,” paliwanag ng binatang ama.
RUFA MAE QUINTO. Tungkol naman sa shooting nila ng dati rin niyang nakaraleasyon na si Rufa Mae Quinto for GMA Films’ I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust and Love You), totoo bang sabay silang nag-shopping nang magkaroon sila ng pagkakataong makapamasyal sa Africa?
“Kailangan kasi naming bumaba sa Tunisia for the outdoor shoot,” paliwanag ni Dennis. “It’s not true na talagang nagsabay pa kami para lang mag-shopping, and to have time together. Nagkataon lang na nakalapag kami, at nang bumili lang ako ng some stuffs, nakita ko rin siya. Ganoon lang yun, Wala yun.”
Hindi kaya ikagalit ni Cristine ang kuwentong nagkasarilinan sina Dennis at Rufa Mae sa shooting ng I.T.A.L.Y.?
“Wala naman siyang dapat ikagalit. Ang sa akin lang, huwag nang lagyan ng malice yung sa amin ni P-chi [palayaw ni Rufa Mae]. Nagkatrabaho lang kami, nagkasama ng ilang araw sa cruise, pero part lang talaga ng trabaho,” pagwawakas ni Dennis.
Diet keen on ‘Prinsesa ng Banyera’ roleActor Diether Ocampo said he is open to the idea of a role in ABS-CBN’s afternoon soap “Prinsesa ng Banyera” topbilled by his former real life sweetheart, actress Kristine Hermosa.
In an interview with the members of entertainment media, Ocampo said that if there’s an offer from management, he will gladly welcome it.
The actor, however, said he still cannot confirm reports that he is being considered for a part in the afternoon soap.
He said that while such an offer would be welcome, he has yet to receive an invitation.
Ocampo’s statement stemmed from reports that Diet-Kristine fans are asking the network to include Ocampo in the popular afternoon series.
Working with Kristine
Recently, Ocampo confirmed reports that he and Hermosa were sighted in the island of Boracay.
He said they were in Boracay to do a photo shoot for a special project.
“Ngayon okay naman kami, in fact, nagka-trabaho kami pero for photo shoot. Abangan na lang nila iyon may ginawa kaming project together na nag-trabaho kami for a particular photo shoot,” Ocampo said,
And as usual, Ocampo was unable to clarify the status of his on-off, sort-of relationship with Hermosa. He said that what is more important now are the good things happening in their lives.
“Sa ngayon kasi hindi ko muna iniisip iyon dahil sa gaya ng sinasabi ko medyo maganda naman iyong mga nangyari pareho sa amin dahil pareho kaming abala sa trabaho at the same time may bago kaming proyekto na ginagawa for ABS-CBN,” Ocampo added.
Ocampo also denied a report that he is asking for “a break” from his love team with Hermosa.
“Wala akong nabanggit na ganoon. Hindi ako pwedeng mag-decide pagdating sa ganyang bagay. Ngayon okay naman kami.”
Ocampo is now busy with his K.I.D.S Foundation for poor children.
Ocampo’s K.I.D.S. Foundation helps underprivileged children of Metro Manila and other provinces in the country.
He is also part of “Maligno,” the second offering of ABS-CBN’s “Sineserye Presents: The Susan Roces Collection” with his best friend Claudine Barretto.
KC Concepcion on being compared to Angel Locsin: “Sino naman po ako para i-compare sa kanya?”
Nag-react si KC Concepcion dahil lagi silang pinagkukumpara ni Angel Locsin. Mas iinit daw ito dahil si Richard Gutierrez, na dating leading man ni Angel, ang hinuhulaang makakatambal ni KC sa unang pelikula na gagawin niya sa Star Cinema simula ngayong third week of May. Intriga tuloy ng iba, lahat na lang daw ba ay aagawin ni KC kay Angel?
“Ha? Ano po yun? Parang ang dami-daming girls para i-set out yung dalawa lang. Bakit hindi po si Anne [Curtis] at si Angel?” balik-tanong ni KC nang makapanayam siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa kanyang contract signing para sa three-picture deal niya sa Star Cinema last Wednesday, April 30, sa 14th floor ng ELJ Bldg. sa ABS-CBN.
Ipinaliwanag kay KC na ang scenario ay hinuhulaang si Angel ang magiging prinsesa ng ABS-CBN nang lumipat ito from GMA-7. Pero naudlot daw ito dahil sa pagdating ni KC sa Kapamilya network.
“Mas marami naman pong experience si Angel,” sabi ni KC. “Sino naman po ako para i-compare sa kanya? Angel Locsin na po siya nung pumasok ako. Actually, parang I have a lot of catching up to do pa po compared sa mga credentials niya.”
“The feeling is mutual,” sambit naman ng dalagang anak nina Sharon Cuneta at Gabby Concepcion sa sinabi ni Angel na fan siya nito. “Dati ko pa po naman neme-mention ang pangalan niya sa mga artistang napapanood ko. Nagkita kami sa Cebu, nagkausap kami sa eroplano na parang pinagtagpo kami ni God. At ang bait niya.”
BILLY CRAWFORD. Tinanong din namin si KC kung okey na sila ng na-link din sa kanya noon na si Billy Crawford. Nabalita kasi noon na nainis si KC kay Billy dahil sinabi ng binata na “good kisser” si KC sa isang radio show.
“Di ba, Kapamilya na siya?” tanong ng dalaga.
Sinabi ng PEP kay KC na magiging host si Billy ng Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 ng ABS-CBN.
“Bagay sa kanya! Yun lang comment ko,” bulalas niya, sabay tawa.
“Wala na ako masabi!” tawa niya ulit.
Gusto kaya niyang makasama si Billy sa isang show?
“Saan naman kami magwo-work?” mabilis na sagot ni KC.
May nagsabi na pareho silang magaling sumayaw. Puwede silang maging bagong Nida Blanca at Nestor de Villa.
“It could be okay for me,” aniya.
Biro namin, parang pilit ang sagot niya.
“Hindi!” natatawang sabi ni KC. “Hindi ko lang kasi ma-imagine kung anong klaseng project. Parang magge-guest ako sa PDA?”
Umalis ngayong araw, May 1, si KC papuntang Paris at one week siyang mag-stay roon. Gusto raw muna niyang mag-unwind at mag-relax bago niya simulan ang kanyang first movie. Hindi nga raw niya mapapanood bukas, May 2, ang balik-acting ng kanyang ama na si Gabby Concepcion sa Maalaala Mo Kaya. Pero titingnan daw niya ito pag na-upload na sa YouTube.
Sam Milby or Luis Manzano?
When ABS-CBN’s Australian news bureau interviewed Anne Curtis’s mom Carmen in Melbourne, she openly said that she still likes Luis Manzano for her daughter. Aside from the fact that she’s a very big Vilmanian and would like to have Governor Vilma Santos as a balae, she also finds Luis a very kind man. Unfortunately for her, Anne and Lucky’s friendship didn’t blossom into love. “Si Lucky nanligaw talaga… except soulmate lang gusto ni Anne muna.”
However, Carmen admits that Anne’s current suitor, actor Sam Milby, has also endeared himself to her and the entire family. “Si Sam he’s very mabait. Ma-to-touch ka sa mga ginagawa niya…like nungumuwi kami he spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve with Anne and the whole family.” And to prove that Sam is very much welcome in their home, she is set to watch the singer/actor’s Heartthrobs concert with Piolo Pascual in Melbourne and Sydney this May. “Of course, I have to support (him),” Carmen laughed.
Talkin’ about My Girl
Kim Chiu’s debut–and her nervousness about the event–was anything but ordinary. After all, it’s not everyday one of showbiz’s prettiest young stars turns 18, with cameras following her around for a TV special to boot. Any debutante would understandably be nervous like Kim was last April 26 at the GlassGarden. It was already 7 pm and her make-up was not done yet. Even worse, last minute adjustments had to be made on her gown.
So did Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition’s Cinderella make it to her the ball on time? She did and even managed to talk to ABS-CBN.com about her journey from shy, giggly teen to confident–but still giggly–woman.
Growing up
Looking back on the days after winning PBB, Kim realizes how blessed her life has become. In three years, she had established a name for herself in showbiz and gained hordes of fans. She also gets gifts from fans, support from sponsors, and lots of traveling opportunities from her work. More importantly, Kim is happy with the fruits of her labor. At her young age, she has been able to afford a Grandia, a Fortuner, and centralized air conditioning for her condo among others. But the biggest accomplishment for her is that she has been able to provide for her family, the people that matter to her the most.
For most of us, Kim will always be that bubbly girl who can chase our troubles away with just a smile. Now that she has turned 18, she takes a look back on some of the most memorable moments in her life.
Unforgettable childhood experience
“Nung hinabol ako ng isang askal na malaki habang naga-ice-ice water kami ng mga kalaro ko. Dun ko nalaman na kaya ko palang tumakbo ng ganun ka-bilis hanggang bahay namin. Hindi naman ako nakagat pero natakot nako sa aso mula nun.”
Favorite vacation spot with family
“Sa beach sa Cebu kasama ng mga kamag-anak ko sa father’s side. Very close kasi ako sa mga pinsan ko to the point na parang sila na yung pinaka-best friends ko. Mahilig kaming mag-swim, maghabulan, tsaka mag-volleyball.”
Favorite hangout
“SaCebukasi merong mall dun na may malaking tambayan. Dun kami lagi ng mga classmates ko. Nagte-take out lang kami ng pagkain tapos dadalhin namin dun. As in marami kami, tapos iba-iba pa ng ugali. Pero lagi kaming magkakasama. Dun kami nagpapalipas ng oras pag tinatamad kami. Mahilig rin kaming manood ng sine, usually mga romantic comedies.”
Most embarrassing experience
“Yung first menstruation ko. Nasa classroom ako tapos tinawag ako ng teacher para mag-recite. Yung classmate ko na lalaki na nakaupo sa likod ko biglang sinabi, ‘Ano yan Kim?’ May pula daw sa skirt ko. Umuwi ako ng bahay. Umiyak ako sa yaya ko. Grade 6 ako nun.”
Kilig moments with boys
“Dati walang nanliligaw sa kin. Parang baby kasi ko, tawag nga sa akin isip-bata. Yung mga nirereto naman, walang pumapasa. Finally, nung nagka-boyfriend ako, first year high school ako tapos siya third year na. Nagkamali siya, akala niya matanda na yung isip ko yun pala hindi pa!”

Rica Peralejo refuses to comment about Piolo Pascual’s new “inspiration”
Maituturing na si Rica Peralejo ang pinakamatagal na na-link sa matinee idol na si Piolo Pascual. Marami rin ang nag-isip na mauuwi sa isang romantic relationship ang friendship nila.
But as we all know, up to now, tahasan pa ring sinasabi ni Piolo na for several years ay wala talaga siyang nagiging girlfriend. Same goes with Rica na still single pa rin and, as much as possible, hoping na whoever will be her next boyfriend would be her last too.
Sa pangyayaring may mga pahayag daw si Piolo ngayon na babaeng natitipuhan diumano ng aktor from their church, sinubukan ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na kunin ang reaksiyon ni Rica tungkol dito.
“Alam mo, sa totoo lang, tinanong din ako…TV crew, hindi na lang ako sumagot. Sa totoo lang, sumasagot ako ngayon if it concerns my life. But if it’s concerning others, hindi na talaga,” pag-iwas ni Rica.
Kibit-balikat lang ang isinagot ni Rica sa amin when we asked her kung aware ba siya sa sinasabing bagong girl na natitipuhan ngayon ni Piolo.
“Ewan ko!” sabay tawa ni Rica. “Siya ang tanungin n’yo, di ba? E, alam n’yo naman ako, hindi naman talaga ako showbiz.”
Nasagot na rin daw ni Rica noon kung bakit hindi nauwi sa romantic relationship ang naging closeness nilang dalawa ni Piolo, aside from the fact marami ang naniniwala na siya yung “Princess” na tinutukoy noon ng aktor.
“Unang-una, the reason why I don’t want to answer anything about Piolo is because Piolo is a big person. Hot item! Natural kahit na ano ang sabihin ko about Piolo, magiging malaki. So, mas mabuti na lang na tumahimik,” saad ni Rica.
SCHOOL LIFE. Career wise, talagang napagdesisyunan na raw ni Rica na hindi na maging kasing-busy tulad dati simula nang magdesisyon siyang mag-aral sa Ateneo. Kaya ibang blessing daw nang dumating sa kanya ang pelikulang Caregiver ng Star Cinema. Bukod dito, ang morning show ng ABS-CBN na Umagang Kay Ganda na talaga ang pinagkakaabalahan niya other than her schooling.
“It’s definitely my choice,” sambit niya. “Actually, after ng Pangarap na Bituin ko na-decide na I can’t do it, kasi hirap talaga ako. Parang ano rin… More than the hirap if I do not focus on something, I will not achieve anything also. Magsa-suffer lang ang lahat.”
Kinorek ni Ricaang PEP when we asked her kung inspirasyon ba niya ang nakababatang kapatid na si Paula Peralejo—na nagtapos kamakailan na magna cum laude sa University of the Philippines-sa kanyang pagbababalik-eskuwelahan.
“Like I’ve said, not an inspiration but an encouragement. A big factor dahil siya talaga yung nagpalakas ng loob ko na mag-aral,” aniya.
Biro ni Rica, kung ang kapatid daw niya ay grumadweyt ng magna cum laude sa UP, siya naman daw ay ga-graduate ng: “Suma ako…suman!” tawa niya
“Hindi, sabi ko nga, now that I tell everyone that she’s magna, everyone expects na we’ll be the same. Although hindi naman ako nape-pressure, pero I just want everybody to know na hindi naman porke ganoon ang kapatid ko, ganoon din ako.
“Unang-una, nagtatrabaho pa ako,” patuloy niya. “Siya hindi. Completely mag-aaral siya at ako na ang nagsasabi na mahirap ang working student. Kaya sa lahat ng working student sa buong mundo, sobrang bilib ako. Ang hirap talaga!
“Kaya ako, alam n’yo yung every time na mag-excel ako in something sa school, sobra-sobra ang pasasalamat ko. Parang, ‘Lord, kung wala ka, paano ko ito gagawin?” pahayag ni Rica who is an incoming second year student ng Creative Writing course sa Ateneo.
Nikki Gil performs at Hong Kong Disneyland
ASAP host and MYX VJ Nikki Gil did the country proud when she was chosen to sing the Filipino version of It’s A Small World at the launch of the classic boat ride at Hong Kong Disneyland. Other pop stars from Asia were also on hand to perform the song in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean.
Nikki felt privileged to be chosen to represent the country in a positive way. “For me, to have been able record it (the song) in Filipino is a different feeling. Ang sarap ng feeling. This has given me an opportunity to represent the country in a good way and I’m very proud that we–the Philippines–are represented in this global concept,” explained the singer. A bahay kubo has been included in the design of the It’s A Small World attraction as a representation of the country.
Nikki’s appearance at Hong Kong Disneyland is her second stint with the Walt Disney Company. She previously recorded two songs in the Asian version of the High School Musical soundtrack.
Aga Muhlach happy for box-office success of “When Love Begins”
Abot hanggang tenga ang ngiti ni Aga Muhlach nang makasalubong namin siya sa ABS-CBN compund kahapon, April 30. Nakarating na kasi agad kay Aga ang magandang balita na successful daw ang nationwide first-day showing ng movie nila ni Anne Curtis na When Love Begins ng Star Cinema at Viva Films.
“Of course, masaya,” ngiti ni Aga. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga nanonood. I hope they really enjoyed the movie.”
Nadagdagan pa ang kasiyahan ni Aga nang malaman niya na nakakuha na rating na “B” ang When Love Begins mula sa Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB).
“Wow, salamat!” nagulat na reaksyon ni Aga.
Tatlong pelikula ang sabay-sabay na ipinalabas kahapon, April 30: When Love Begins, ang Hollywood movie na Iron Man, at ang pelikula ni Judy Ann Santos na Ploning. Ayon sa report ng Star Cinema, ang When Love Begins daw ang pinakamalakas sa mga sinehan dahil naka-P10 million daw ito on its opening day.
“It’s a long weekend. They [moviegoers] have enough time to watch both movies. So, sana suportahan nila parehas ng mga Pinoy ang movie namin [ni Juday] because we’re up against an international movie also, di ba?” pahayag ni Aga.
Natuwa rin si Aga nang malaman niya na tinalo raw ang box-receipts dito sa Metro Manila ng When Love Begins sa mga sinehan sa probinsya, kung saan showing din ang pelikula nila ni Anne.
“I really don’t know what to say,” sabi ni Aga. “The only thing I can say siguro is sana people will continue to support our movie.”
Sa ngayon, magpapahinga raw muna si Aga bago harapin ang susunod na pelikulang gagawin niya sa Star Cinema.

Respected broadcast journalist Pinky Webb joins Henry Omaga-Diaz and Julius Babao as the newest host of XXX. She completes the investigative trio who expose the illegal activities of petty crooks, big-time swindlers, and corrupt officials every week. Becoming a part of XXX fulfills a particular dream of Pinky’s. “I have always wanted to do an investigative program not only to help victims, but also to alert the public against petty and high crimes. XXX has shown how far people will go just to earn a living, even if it comes at the cost of other people’s lives.” Pinky adds that her new assignment poses not just a great challenge, but also an opportunity for public service. “I’ve always been fascinated by the two main characters in a crime: the perpetrator and the victim. Pinky replaces Karen Davila who will be moving to a new show. A broadcast journalist for 14 years now, Pinky earned public recognition for her exclusive coverage on the Subic Rape Case Trial soon after the guilty verdict was handed down to Lance Corporal Daniel Smith. Her report was Bandila’s entry for Best Newscast category in the prestigious International Emmy Awards. It was also the only Filipino newscast that made it to the final four nominees. Pinky also proved her dedication as a reporter when she bravely covered the Manila Peninsula Siege, choosing to face the onslaught of tear gas being thrown at the rebel soldiers even if she suffers from asthma.
