Geoff strips for TV
After the highly-anticipated catwalk scene in Lobo, which had Geoff Eigenmann and Angel Locsin going down the runway wearing nothing more than skimpy swimsuits, viewers were definitely surprised—and pleased–to see a newly trim and buffer Geoff in his sexiest scene to date. This, the actor explains, is the result of one of his lifelong passions, boxing.
“I’ve been boxing since I was in high school but I stopped for a while. And then when I had a break after Hiram Na Mukha and Rounin finished, I decided to get back into it again. This time I trained more seriously. I did it almost everyday. I really enjoy boxing. Losing weight was just an added bonus,” he recalls.
This was a year and a half ago. Now, he’s 20 pounds lighter and a whole lot leaner. After being told about the runway scene, Geoff shrugged off any feelings of shyness at being practically undressed on TV. “Sinabi ko sa staff kung sigurado ba sila na gusto nilang gawin ko yun. Pakapalan nalang talaga ng mukha. Inisip ko trabaho yun. Okay lang naman,” he explains with a laugh.
Aside from boxing, Geoff also maintains his endurance by playing ultimate Frisbee every Sunday and regularly joins league tournaments. “I’ve been playing for about five years now. I used to play with my family. I’ve experienced playing for different teams already. I love running. It’s a fun game,” he admits. The actor also admits he has lessened the amount of rice and oily foods in his diet to keep his weight in check. “This is the leanest I’ve ever been in my life and I like how it feels,” he says with a smile.
The 23-year-old actor also says he gets along just fine with Lobo co-star Angel Locsin, who he has known for quite some time already. “I already met her na even way before kasi she and AJ, my brother, did a teen-oriented show together before in another network. My mother is also close to her. Angel’s always been nice to me and I’m happy working with her,” he adds. Of their recent kissing scene, Geoff says they both gave it a very professional approach. “When we found out we we’re going to do it. We didn’t even talk about it with each other. We just did the scene in one take. Ganun lang. Tapos na,” he says matter-of-factly.
