K BROSAS, PALIT KAY POKWANG!
Hindi papalitan ni K Brosas si Pokwang sa Wowowee. Ito ang tsika sa amin ng isang staff ng said noontime show dahil nga biglang umapir si K sa teritoryo ni Willie Revillame.
“Relyebo lang si K kapag nawawala si Pokwang,” sey pa ng aming kausap.
Sa dami raw kasi ng raket ni Pokwang, bukod sa mga shows abroad, meron pa itong That’s My Doc.
Nakakatawa naman ang sagot ni Pokwang sa isyu. “Hindi ako insecure, mare,” biro pa nito sa amin.
Korek! Dahil everybody knows na mahal na mahal ng Wowowee staff ang dating Music Box comedy singer. Ayon pa kay Pokwang, sa hitsura pa lamang niya, aliw na aliw na ang mga tao.
“Mabenta sa mga foreigners ang beauty ni Pokwang, huh!” sey ng isa naming kasamahan.
Sa totoo lang, hanggang ngayon ay textmates pa sila ng Canadian na si Paul Tieken, “Kaya lang, na-assign na siya sa London kaya’t text-text na lang kami.”

ABS-CBN’s comedienne-host Pokwang said she learns alot from working with veteran comedians Nova Villa and Roderick Paulate on the show “That’s My Doc”.
“Yung respeto, respeto ko sa katrabaho, mapabago man o datihan na, ‘yun po ‘yon,” Pokwang told members of entertainment media.
Pokwang said she’s really honored to be working with Villa and Paulate since both are considered icons in the field of comedy.
“At saka yung pakikisama na hindi lang sa trabaho behind camera na para talagang pamilya nagshi-share ng food hindi ka maiilang. So dapat ganoon din ang gagawin mo kapag may darating na bago ishe-share ko din sa kanila,” the Kapamilya’s daily noontime show “Wowowee” host added.
Pokwang shared that she gets a lot of pointers from the two veterans when it comes to acting and doing comic scenes.
“Ganoon pa din po yung dapat nagbibigayan walang sapawan,” Pokwang said.
Reinvention plan
Lately, Pokwang said she would also want to reinvent herself and would like to gradually do a crossover from comedy to drama and action.
“Gusto ko talaga iyong ma-aksyon iyong bonggang-bonggang aksyon na may konting kurot ng drama. Pero siyempre di mawawala ang comedy pa din (I would really like to do action with a little drama with a bit of comedy),” Pokwang told abs-cbnNEWS.com.
Dubbed as “Babaeng Bakla,” Pokwang said that she is in the process of finding out whether she’ll be able to venture into projects that don’t involve any hosting or hilarity.
“Pero gusto ko munang ilayo muna ang sarili ko sa comedy. Titignan ko ‘yung itsura ko kung kaya kong pagsabayin iyong drama and action (I would like to distance myself from comedy, I would want to see myself if I can do drama and action at the same time),” she added.
Pokwang said that she is very grateful for all the blessings and good fortune coming her way, specifically, the public’s recognition of her talent.
Aside from co-hosting “Wowowee,” Pokwang is a regular cast of “That’s my Doc” every Saturdays at 6 p.m. with actor Aga Muhlach. She is also busy doing shows in various localities in the country and even for Filipino communities abroad.
Pokwang or Marietta Subong in real life is a member of ABS CBN’s Star Magic group of entertainers. She rose to fame after winning in ABS-CBN’s “Clown in a Million.”
