It has been six months now since Roxanne Guinoo has decided to live alone and away from her family.

Pero bago pa man may kung anu-anong pumasok sa isip n’yo, sinabi ng dalaga na she wants to learn life experiences by herself.
“Matututo ka talaga. Especially ang pag-handle ng money. Gusto kong matuto sa buhay dahil 22 (years old) na ko,” said Roxanne, na inamin ding very protected siya ng family kung kaya’t hindi niya masyadong alam ang mga hirap ng buhay.
Sinabi niyang hindi naging madali sa kanya ang mga unang buwan. She needed to learn how to do the laundry, maglinis, magbayad ng mga bill at maghanda ng food for herself.
“Until now inaaral ko pa rin yan. Di mo naman mabibigla pero ang sarap ng feeling pag nakaya mo.”
Aminado si Rox na madalang na lang niyang makita ang kanyang pamilya dahil sa busy schedule subalit natutuwa sila sa kanyang pagma-mature.
Ano’ng say ko? Way to go, Roxanne! Basta, lagare lang ng lagare habang may mga raket, deadma muna sa lovelife.

After getting audiences riled up by playing kontrabida in Prinsesa Ng Banyera, Ara Mina holds onto her “Queen of Mean” title with the new daytime drama Ligaw Na Bulaklak. The award-winning actress plays the role of Janet, a beautiful but distrustful assistant who will make Lea’s (Roxanne Guinoo) life a living hell. “Sobrang insecure ako kay Roxanne. Feeling ko siya yung karibal ko sa lahat ng bagay. Mapaghinala ako sa mga tao,” she describes. Her role as the scheming Cassandra in Banyera showed audiences a side of Ara Mina that they had never seen before. With the accolades she earned from her The real challenge for Ara in taking on kontrabida roles is that it’s the exact opposite of her own sweet disposition, something friends and co-workers can attest to. She has to shed her usually bubbly personality every time she gets into the role of Cassandra and Janet. As to where Ara gets her motivation to become “bad,” she says, “Hindi kasi ako mapaghiganti sa tunay na buhay. Dito ko na lang binubuhos sa role ko para makita ko kung paano maghiganti.” |
convincing portrayal, Ara was the immediate choice to play the main villain in Ligaw Na Bulaklak. But the actress clarifies that she is not being stereotyped into anti-hero roles. “Sabi nila effective daw ako sa mga roles na ganito. I remember sa Mano Po ako yung black sheep sa family. Dun ako nanalo ng Best Actress award. At least nakikita ng mga tao yung pagiging versatile mo as an actress, kahit saang role ka ilagay, magiging markado.” she explains.
Still, Ara looks forward to playing other roles, like being the poor heroine to someone else’s kontrabida. But for now, she’s focusing on giving her all to make the character of Janet as effective as that of Cassandra. “Kung tumatak sa inyo ang role ni Cassandra sa Prinsesa ng Banyera, asahan niyong tatatak din ang role ni Janet dito sa Ligaw Na Bulaklak,” she promises.

Ron Morales on dating Roxanne Guinoo: ‘Ayokong pumapel after ng break-up nila’
As one of Roxanne’s new leading men in the afternoon soap Ligaw na Bulaklak, Ron Morales could not help but be attracted to the actress’ unique charm. And even if he is being rumored as Roxanne’s new interest, Ron revealed that he does not want to step into the picture as of the moment because of his respect to fellow Star Magic talent and Bench model Jake Cuenca. “Ina-admire ko si Roxanne. Kaibigan ko si Jake, kaibigan ko si Roxanne. Ayaw ko na bigla na lang ako pumapel after ng break-up nila. Sinabi ko naman sa kanya ‘Jake, magkaibigan tayo di naman kita sasaktan ng ganun at alam ko mahal ninyo ang isa’t isa.”
For Ron he’d rather focus on his acting career and believes that the secret to a promising career is the right timing and right attitude. The right timing, he says, occurs in everyone’s life at some point or another. Being a success or a failure depends on how you handle it. Ron may not have bagged the Be Bench model title search aired over ABS-CBN last year but he has outshined his other colleagues in building a showbiz career. Aside from being a part of the ASAP 08 Coverboys, Ron played the role of a secret agent in the recently concluded action-teleserye Palos. “May time naman para sa lahat. Ako nabigyan lang ako ng opportunity and this is my time to prove to them (kung ano ang kaya kong gawin),” he shared.
For someone who previously did not consider going into acting, Ron’s story can be considered a success. His current project Ligaw is an answered prayer because he wanted to put his dramatic skills to the test. What qualities could he have to land such good projects one after the other? “Siguro nakikita sa akin na may lalim ako (sa pag-acting) simula noong nag-Palos ako. Nung na-try ko mag-acting, hindi pala ganun kababaw. Pinag-aaralan mo siya, and then eventually made-develop mo yung pagiging natural mo sa acting. Nagustuhan ko. Gusto ko talagang mag-venture sa drama. Yung pagiging malalim ko as a person, pwedeng dito ko na maibuhos,” he explained.

It was quite obvious in the presscon of ABS-CBN’s latest show Ligaw na Bulaklak that Roxanne Guinoo is still nursing a broken heart over Jake Cuenca.
According to the actress, she cried rivers, when their relationship ended.
But the actress now says that she’s more focused at work when unlike before, her priorities would be divided over family, work and of course, her love life.
Well good for you Roxanne that you’re now going to prioritize work and not be distracted. But girl…. It’s really halata that you’re so not over Jake.
But in fairness, you have a promising new soap opera and I am so in love with one of your leading men, Marc Abaya so I made a vow to myself to catch the first til last episode of your soap opera.

In the five years that Roxanne Guinoo has spent in showbiz, she has matured as an actress and as a person. She takes her career seriously, as well as the lessons she’s picked up through the years. But what is probably the most admirable thing about her showbiz accomplishments is her willingness to embrace change to stay on top.
The promising actress has two new big TV projects. She is the lead star in the upcoming afternoon series Ligaw (Wild Flower), which will replace the soon-to-end Prinsesa ng Banyera. She will also play Maricel Soriano’s sister in the upcoming primetime soap opera Florinda. Though the projects may be coming one after the other now, Roxanne admits that it was not always the case.
“Ilang beses na rin akong sinabihan na may project ako. Tapos talagang naudlot. Nag-expect ako na ilang days na lang taping na and then bigla kang ipu-pull out,” she reminisces. But she remained hopeful, and soon enough, projects came her way. Her successful major projects include Natutulog Ba ang Diyos and Palos. She also starred in Lastikman and Gulong ng Palad.
“For me kasi kahit five years na ko dito willing pa rin akong matuto sa acting,” she says. She recalls a time when she was in an acting workshop with other young stars so they could hone their acting skills. While the rest of the group had given up by the second day, Roxanne stayed until she completed the course. “So ako tinapos ko yung session kasi willing talaga akong matuto. And nakatulong talaga sa acting ko and how to deal with other people na di mo naman kaugali,” she shares.
Earlier tagged as Star Circle Quest’s “nice girl,” Roxanne reveals that she eventually became assertive, especially about things she believes in. “Marunong din naman akong lumaban. Kung alam mo kung ano yung ipinaglalaban mo. Hindi dahil nandito ka dahil may kapit ka, kundi dahil marunong kang umarte at marunong makisama,” she explains.
Controversies are inevitable in showbiz and Roxanne has learned to manage them by ignoring them. “Lately, wala na kong pakialam. Hindi na ko masyadong affected. Ang mentality ko trabaho ko ‘to. Profession ko na ‘to. Kailangan ko talagang pangalagaan kasi kung wala ako dito, paano na ko? And naging passion ko na talaga siya. Kung hindi ko to pagbubutihin, wala,” she concludes.
