TV host Ruffa Gutierrez will join the cast of the much-awaited television series “Yo Soy Betty La Fea!” with actress Bea Alonzo as Betty.
The exclusive official announcement was made through ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz.”
Gutierrez will play the role of Daniella.
Aside from Alonzo, Gutierrez is another big star chosen to be part of the cast.
The production’s casting is still ongoing, as well as the voting in unofficial polls for the role of the leading man, Armando.
When Bea found out that Gutierrez would join “Yo Soy Betty La Fea,” her reaction was simple. “She’s perfect for the role! I love it.”
Gutierrez’s scenes with Alonzo is something to look forward to. It is exciting that an international beauty queen will be Alonzo’s co-star in the program.
Gutierrez is also excited since “Yo Soy Betty La Fea” will seem like a fashion show as she will wear fabulous clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry.
The role is perfect for the beauty queen and it’s amusing to think that when Ruffa joined the Ms. World competition, one of the judges was Vanessa Williams, who plays Wilhelmina’s sister in “Ugly Betty” in the United States.
Williams had asked Gutierrez, “What advice would you give ugly girls?” What a coincidence.
The question was perfect since now Gutierrez is part of “Yo Soy Betty La Fea.” What will be her answer to Ms. Williams as she plays the role of Daniella?

RUFFA Gutierrez has been chosen to play Daniella in the Philippine version of Betty La Fea. Si Ruffa ang kauna-unahang malaking artista na nai-cast sa much-awaited teleserye. The role was discussed by the management of ABS-CBN with Ruffa who was accompanied by her mom Annabelle Rama.
A couple of weeks ago, we overheard Ruffa talking to The Buzz staff about the offer. She sounded pretty excited. And now, she is taking on the role.
Come June, Ruffa along with the cast will start taping. So far, Ruffa is busy with her hosting job in The Buzz every Sunday. She was last seen in the hit teleserye Kokey.
Looks like Betty La Fea is becoming an ambitious project of ABS-CBN. Let’s wait who is the next big star joining the cast.

RUFFA AT KRIS GIRL TALK ABOUT JAKE AND ROXANNE
Someone told me how Ruffa Gutierrez and Kris Aquino talked about Jake Cuenca and Roxanne recently.
You see, in the Buzz, they reported for the nth time that the two are no longer a couple with the matching ebidensya that they were on separate tables in the farewell party of Palos.
Jake said that he doesn’t want to talk about it that much but summed his feelings that Roxanne is very special to him. Pointing to Roxanne, he said, “Mahal ko `yan. Mahal ko `yan.”
Ruffa felt kilig about how Jake was vocal about his feelings while Kris was a little wary saying, “Mahal ko yan? Parang he was referring to a thing. Dapat mahal ko siya,” said Kris.
And this time Ruffa’s eyes were opened and she saw the light.
I wouldn’t blame Kris. Oo nga naman diba?

I was watching VIP PASS on cinema one and there was one segment where the new pantene girls, Ruffa, Gretchen, Claudine, and Judy Ann, are being interviewed. I really like Ruffa’s ka-prankahan, tinanong kasi ang mga girls regarding sa mga ka trabaho nila, siempre they were all excited at sinabi nila na di totoo na hiwahiwalay sila nag-shoot for the commercial. May kumakalat kasi na chismis na hiwahiwalay nga daw nag shoot ang mga ‘to. Anyway, tinanong si Gretchen kung how was working with Judy Ann. Siempre sagot agad sya, excited daw sya with Judy Ann kasi di pa daw nya to nakasama sa kahit anong project kaya when she found out na kasama nya to sa commercial na-excite daw sya. Sabi pa ni Gretchen lagi lang daw nya pinapanood si Judy Ann sa teleserye nya dati at walang mintis daw. Biglang singit naman si Ruffa asking Gretchen kung alam nya ang title ng teleserye… hahahaha! siempre di nakasagot si Gretchen, tagalog daw kasi ang title. Ang ating prankang Ruffa naman ay natawa at tinitingnan si Gretchen habang nag eexplain. Hahahaha! Dedma lang si Gretchen kay Ruffa. Sigurado magkakaron na naman ng issue to!
RICHARD GUTIERREZ, PINALILIPAT NI ANNABELLE SA KAPAMILYA
Natanong din kay Annabelle Rama ng ilang veteran reporters kung ano ang real score sa dating napabalitang paglipat ni Richard sa Kapamilya. At dahil prangka at walang itinatago si Annabelle, umamin na siya sa tunay na kaganapan sa nasabing isyu.

Shampoo brand issues statement about showbiz press walk out
Following the reported walk out of showbiz press during the press launch of Pantene’s newest endorsers, the shampoo brand’s PR agency, CaPRI, released a press statement explaining what happened last night, April 28.
Ruffa Gutierrez, Gretchen Barretto, Judy Ann Santos, and Claudine Barretto graced the press launch that was held at the poolside of Hotel Intercontinental Manila, Makati City. These four beautiful ladies were presented to the invited media and guests for a general Q&A segment. But given that the endorsers are all controversial, some reporters had hoped for a one-on-one interview.
The latter did not happen.
Members of the entertainment press decided to leave the event after waiting for too long for the shampoo’s celebrity endorsers to emerge from the restroom.
To explain the incident, the shampoo brand—through Richard Arboleda, managing director of CaPRI—gave an official press statement to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). It read:
“This statement is being issued to clarify the circumstances that kept some media people from staying until the end of the Pantene Most Beautiful Press Conference.
“After the official press conference, our four endorsers—Ms. Gretchen Barretto, Ms. Claudine Barretto, Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, and Ms. Judy Ann Santos—were slated to do additional interviews with the media, apart from the official Q&A that was done as part of the program. After the first interview, the four ladies headed to the restroom to freshen up before heading out again to grant additional interviews.
“Unfortunately because of the huge number of media guests, it became difficult to communicate to everyone that the interviews will continue. In fact, the four women stepped back out and resumed granting interviews just as some media were leaving. For the TV and print media who were left behind, the four endorsers continued to do interviews for the next hour.
“We would like to thank our friends from the media for their continued support, and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the circumstances may have caused. We will do our best to make sure that incidents like this will never happen again.”

Napagkasunduan ng mga media outfits sa print at telebisyon na lisanin na lamang ang venue dahil sa matagal nilang paghihintay sa apat na artista pinili para sa Most Beautiful campaign ng Pantene—sina Ruffa Gutierrez, Gretchen Barretto, Judy Ann Santos, and Claudine Barretto.
DELAYED FOR AN HOUR OR SO. Sa imbitasyon para sa nasabing event, nakasaad na alas-sais ng gabi ang registration samantalang alas-siyete naman magsisimulang buksan ang cocktails. Bago pa man mag-alas-siyete ay unti-unti nang nagsisidatingan ang mga miyembro ng media, ngunit kapansin-pansin na hindi pa rin tapos sa pagse-set-up ng ilang equipment ang production crew ng naturang event.
Bandang alas-otso na ng gabi nang buksan ang cocktails area at inabot pa ng halos isang oras bago pormal na simulan ang programa.
Sa kanilang programa, may segment na tinaguriang Pantene’s Council of Stylists kung saan isang open forum ang ibinigay para sa mga reporters, photgraphers, at cameramen na dumalo sa naturang event. Ang kanilang Council of Stylists ay kinabibilangan nina Jude Hipolito at Rose Velasco ng Univers Phyto Salon by Kaizen, Jing Monis ng Propaganda, Celeste Tuviera ng Symmetria, Heri Calayag ng Henri Calayag Salon, Louis Kee ng Razzle and Dazzle, at Victor Ortega ng Emphasis.
Habang ginaganap ito, mababakas na sa mukha ng ilang miyembro ng media ang pagkainip. May mga bumubulong nga na sana ay lumabas na sina Ruffa, Gretchen, Judy Ann, at Claudine.

Subalit noong magtungo sila sa photo wall na sinabi upang kunan sina Ruffa, Gretchen, Judy Ann, at Claudine, nakita nilang naka-set up na ang crew ng Ricky Lo Exclusives para sa inteview ng showbiz columnist na si Ricky Lo sa apat na shampoo endorsers.
WAITING TIME AGAIN. Walang magawa ang iba pang miyembro ng media, lalo na ang mga TV crew ng ABS-CBN dahil sa kalabang channel ang nasabing TV program. Sa katunayan, isang reporter pa ang nagsabi, “Ay! Bakit ganun? May Ricky Lo na…”
Pumuwesto na lamang at naghintay ang iba pang cameramen sa harap ng photo wall, samantalang ang ilang showbiz writers ay naghintay sa likod para sa kanilang pagkakataong makapag-interview.
Tumagal ng hindi hihigit sa 30 minuto ang interview ni Ricky Lo sa apat kaya noong natapos ito, unti-unti nang nagsilapitan ang ilang photographers at showbiz writers sa lugar ng mga cameramen upang makisabay na sana sa interview. Ngunit biglang humarang ang security pati na ang ilang miyembro ng production upang i-escort ang apat na artista patungo sa comfort room na malapit sa photo wall.
Sa pagkakataong ito, may mga miyembro ng press ang nairita at nagdesisyong umuwi na lang.
Ilang minuto ring naghintay ang mga natitirang media sa paglabas ng apat mula sa comfort room. Sa katunayan, nagkakainitan na sa pagitan ng media at ng security at production crew ng Pantene dahil pilit na pinalalayo ang press sa photo wall.
DISMAYED MEDIA. Nagreklamo ang ilan sa mga miyembro ng media at halos pasigaw na nilang sinasabi, “OA! [over reaction]. Palagi naman naming ginagawa ito.” Ganito rin ang nasambit ng kilalang TV reporter at PEP contibutor na si Nelson Canlas. “Hindi ito ang first press conference namin. Sa Malacañang nga hindi ganyan,” aniya.
Humingi ng paumanhin ang isang miyembro ng prodution crew ngunit hindi na mapigilan ang pagkainis ng media. Paulit-ulit na rin ang tanong nila na, “Makakakuha pa ba kami ng interview?” Subalit hindi makasagot ang naturang production crew at nagpaalam ito na iche-check ang mga artista sa loob ng comfort room.
Matapos ang mahabang paghihintay, nagkasundo na ang mga photographer, TV crew, at showbiz writers na mag-walk out na at umuwi na lamang kaysa hintayin ang mga artista para sa sandaling interview. May ilan pang sumisigaw na, “Tara na, ayaw naman magpa-interview!”
Sa labas ng Hotel Intercontinental, sari-saring usapan ang maririnig mula sa press habang naghihintay na kani-kanilang service. May nagrereklamo na, “Ang tagal-tagal ng program nila ‘tapos walang interview.” Samantalang ang iba naman ay nagtataka, “Bakit inuna ang Ricky Lo, wala pa ngang photo-op?”
Bukod sa mga reklamong ito, natapos ang gabi para sa mga dumalong entertainment media na may naiwang mas mabigat na katanungan, “Bakit natagalang lumabas ang apat na artista sa comfort room?”
Kagabi hanggang kaninang tanghali, sinubukang hingan ng pahayag ng PEP ang PR agency na humahawak ng event tungkol sa naganap na walk-out. Ayon sa nakausap ng PEP, natagalan lang daw sila ang apat na celebrities sa pagbibihis kaya laging gulat nla noong paglabas ng comfort room ay wala nang naghihintay na press.
Maglalabas ng official statement ang Pantene tungkol sa nangyari ngayong araw na ito, kaya’t abangan nating lahat.

My Monster Mom is an upcoming comedy film starring 1993 Miss World 2nd Princess Ruffa Gutierrez and her “monster” mom, Annabelle Rama.

Ginawa na lang komedya ng aktres ang lahat, hindi na niya yun masyadong sineryoso, kapag siya raw naman ang nabigyan ng pagkakataong makapag-alaga ng unggoy o daga ay Zuleyka ang ipapangalan niya sa mga iyon.

Ruffa Gutierrez revealed that she was not surprised at all about the news that her estranged husband, Yilmaz Bektas is seeing Zuleyka Rivera, former Ms. Puerto Rico and 2006 Miss Universe. “Naihanda ko na ang sarili ko,” she shared. “Yilmaz is young, he’s very attractive, kahit sino pwede niyang maging girlfriend. Hindi ako nakaramdam ng selos or sakit man lang because I was already expecting that.” The host of The Buzz said that she learned about it when a friend in Istanbul, where she lived during her marriage with the business tycoon, sent her a copy of the story in a Turkish newspaper and the article’s translation. Ruffa shared that Yilmaz In her interview on The Buzz, Ruffa said that Yilmaz did not confirm that he and Zuleyka are dating. “Pero may pasundot-sundot siya na, ‘Now I’m happy’ so nakikita ko yung between the lines,” she revealed. Despite claiming that she has moved on and has prepared herself for times like this, Ruffa got emotional and failed to hold back tears. “I’m emotional kasi every marriage that breaks (up)…nakakalungkot. A local paper in Turkey has recently reported that Yilmaz Bektas, actress Ruffa Gutierrez’s ex-husband, chartered a plane for the Zuleyka Mendoza Rivera, Ms. Universe 2006, in order to fly in the beauty queen from Puerto Rico straight to his country. Photos are also circulating in the media to attest the supposed “flirting” of Yilmaz with Zuleyka. Meanwhile, Ruffa does not seem to be sour-graping over her former husband’s efforts to find romance. As far as Yilmaz is concerned, the only thing that binds her now with him are their two daughters. “Yilmaz is the father of my children and if he chooses to move on, so be it. I wish him the best of luck,” said Ruffa in a text message to TV Patrol. “I hope we come to a mutual agreement that will benefit our children.” Reports say that Yilmaz is bound to return to the Philippines in a couple of weeks to visit his children. On her first I Am KC episode, KC took on the comedy genre so Ruffa asked what makes her laugh. “It’s more on the unexpected, jokes or kilos, yung tipong kelangan pormal tapos biglang me kalog na papasok,” the mega daughter shared. Ruffa took KC aback when she asked about the young lady’s fantasy wedding, connecting it to her birtrhday special’s second episode. “It’s a beach wedding, with light clothes and walang veil. Magulo kasi, I’ll want to fix it all the time! An intimate beach wedding,” KC answered with a laugh.
In the light romance section, referring to I am KC’s last episode with Luis Manzano, Ruffa asked KC to rate her younger brother Richard as a manliligaw. After saying that Richard is ‘mabangong tignan, magaling magbihis, good-looking, hindi trying hard, mabait, patient, persistent and sweet’ KC gives him a very high rating of 8. So what’s the real score between them? “Nag-uusap kami, magkaibigan kami and we’re both getting to know each other better as time passes.”
On the other hand, The Buzz reporters corner Richard and ask him about KC’s booming showbiz career. “Everyone’s happy she joined the industry. I’m happy she’s part of it.” The young man said. When asked how special KC is to him, Richard was all praises for the budding actress. “She’s really admirable. She’s special to me, special to a lot of people…I cherish the times we are together.” |

When asked about her opinion that there are rumors she’s been given special treatment by the network because she can chose her own projects, KC said that she isn’t getting the VIP treatment. “Hiningi lang namin sana may birthday offering, sila naman ang nagbigay nun. And marami rin akong nakitang project na binigay sa ibang artista na gusto ko sa ‘kin na lang. Di ko naman masasabi na VIP and masasabi ko lang naman kasi dito na ako lumaki and it’s a choice na pumasok ako sa industry kung tutuusin di ko naman kelangan talaga.” 
Ruffa then branches into KC’s preferred theme for her first movie and the young woman was quick to say she wants the forbidden love type of movie. “Marami kasi akong experience sa forbidden love,” KC said jokingly. “Strict lang kasi yung pagpapalaki sa akin nung younger years ko. Prior to Ruffa’s statements, the press suspected that the KC-Richard love-team is indeed brewing when KC visited Ruffa on the set of The Buzz last week, March 16. Since KC arrived at a time when Ruffa was still taping, she proceeded to the dressing room of Richard’s older sister and waited there until the taping was over. According to Ruffa, they talked about bags and shoes but she didn’t hide the fact that Richard’s name came up during the stretch of the conversation.
